Tuesday, June 30

9:34 a.m. Theft of a portable muffler cutter was reported in the 6700 block of U.S. Highway 160. There were no suspects.

Wednesday, July 8

1:29 p.m. A woman was arrested on an active warrant for failure to comply at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 North Park St.

Tuesday, July 14

9:09 p.m. An arrest warrant was issued for a man on suspicion of domestic violence, criminal mischief and reckless endangerment in the 1 block of Central Avenue, Dolores. The man allegedly backed his car into his girlfriend’s SUV after an argument.

Tuesday, July 21

6:59 a.m. Illegal dumping was reported in the 28800 block of County Road P. Several items with names were found among the trash, but the deputy was unable to contact them and did not know if they were suspects.

3:14 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of two counts of violating a protection order and violating felony bond conditions in the 28200 block of U.S. Highway 160. The man said he was aware of the protection order.

Wednesday, July 22

7:49 a.m. Irrigation divider boxes were reported stolen in the 12600 block of County Road 26. A potential suspect will be interviewed.

Thursday, July 23

3:44 p.m. Road rage and vehicle damage were reported in the 2700 block of Colorado Highway 184. A vehicle pulled out in front of another vehicle pulling a trailer. Both vehicles stopped and the driver of the second vehicle got out of his car and kicked the door of the other car and grabbed the side mirror, damaging both.

Saturday, July 25

3:17 p.m. Illegal camping was discovered by a deputy in the 17900 block of County Road 39. A green tent with camping supplies was found, but the owner could not be located. A Forest Service officer posted a no camping notice on the tent and agreed to check back to see if it had been removed.

4:03 p.m. A man chased his brother with a metal rod and then smashed his car’s window and hit the car with his own vehicle in the 6600 block of County Road 25. The man left the property and could not be located. The deputy applied for a warrant for the man for criminal mischief, attempted second degree assault and menacing.

Sunday, July 26

1:47 p.m. A man was cited on suspicion of driving without a license and unsafe passing in the 16000 block of Colorado Highway 145.

6:32 p.m. One man was arrested on suspicion of prohibited use of weapons, and another man was arrested on suspicion of DUI and DUI per se in the 800 block of West Seventh Street. A deputy stopped to assist a vehicle broken down on the side of the road. A portable breath test registered a BAC above the legal limit for the driver. The passenger was visibly intoxicated and in possession of a handgun.

Tuesday, July 28

11:42 a.m. A man was trespassed from a property in the 23900 block of County Road G. The man drove on the property and parked his vehicle there and would not leave when the land owner asked him to.

12:51 p.m. A man was arrested on two active warrants at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 North Park St.

2:10 p.m. A man was cited on suspicion of criminal mischief and trespassed from a property in the 26600 block of County Road 14. A man was throwing rocks at the property owner’s tractor while he was conducting maintenance on the road.

Wednesday, July 29

10:45 a.m. A man was cited on suspicion of violating a protection order in the 5600 block of U.S. Highway 160. The man called his wife, who had the protection order against him.

1:28 p.m. Several glass pipes were found in a repossessed vehicle in the 12600 block of U.S. Highway 491. The pipes were turned over to a deputy and logged as evidence.

10:58 a.m. A man hit a business’ fence and fled the scene in the 2100 block of South Broadway. A deputy contacted the driver and observed damage to the vehicle. The case was turned over to the Cortez Police Department.

Thursday, July 30

4:57 a.m. A woman was arrested on suspicion of third-degree assault and domestic violence in the 15300 block of County Road CC. A woman and her wife got into and argument, and she stuck the wife several times.

10:46 a.m. An injured animal was reported at Summit Reservoir, 35260 Colorado Highway 184. The dog was taken to the Cortez Animal Shelter. Its injuries were too severe for treatment, and the animal was euthanized.

8:15 p.m. A retraining order violation was reported in the 20700 block of County Road 19. The man appeared to be intoxicated, but because no one observed him drinking alcohol, which the order prohibited, he could not be cited.

Friday, July 31

9:12 p.m. Domestic violence was reported in the 19700 block of County Road B. Both the man and woman involved claimed the other was the aggressor. The woman had some marks on her arm, but the accusations were determined to be unfounded and no citations were issued.

Monday, Aug. 3

6:21 a.m. A woman was arrested on two active warrants for failure to appear and was trespassed from a property in the 7800 block of County Road 25. A woman saw the woman sitting on her porch and reported her as a suspicious person. A deputy located her hiding behind a tree.
