Saturday, June 13

3:16 p.m. A warrant was issued for a man on suspicion of using an active restraining order and his cell phone to harass, manipulate and threaten a woman in the 13600 block of County Road 28.

Sunday, June 28

10:26 a.m. A drunken man was taken into custody in the 22000 block of County Road G. He had fallen down a 10-foot embankment and allegedly tried to punch and kick the officer attempting to assist him. He was transported to the hospital.

Wednesday, July 1

9:15 a.m. An officer served a warrant for failure to comply to a male inmate at Montezuma Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St.

11:55 a.m. A woman’s identity was stolen in the 23900 block of County Road M. Her identity was used to apply for COVID pandemic assistance and her Social Security number was compromised. The case was transferred to CBI.

Thursday, July 2

9:55 a.m. A woman was cited on suspicion for violating a restraining order in the 2200 block of Hawkins Street. She was calling her husband to check on the well-being of her daughter despite having a no contact order.

7:40 p.m. A fishing sign was reported stolen from the River Walk Trail near Joe Rowell Park in Dolores.

Friday, July 3

12:22 a.m. A man was cited on suspicion of violating a protection order while incarcerated at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St. He engaged in texts and phone calls with a woman he was restrained against contacting.

10:22 a.m. A woman was cited on suspicion of violating a protection order in the 2200 block of Hawkins Street. She contacted her son-in-law at his residence despite a non contact order.

12:24 p.m. A man was cited on suspicion of false reporting in the 28200 block of U.S. Highway 160. An officer arrived on scene to investigate trespassing and found a man in the residence that the owner claimed was not allowed to be there. The man became aggressive and a deputy used a stun gun to subdue him. It was later determined the man was the owner’s son and was allowed to be there. The owner was cited.

4:07 p.m. A medium-size white dog killed a man’s chickens in the 200 block of North 14th Street, Dolores. This was the second incident with this dog, but the officer was unable to capture the dog.

5:49 p.m. A male inmate was cited on suspicion of criminal mischief at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St. The inmate intentionally damaged a sprinkler head in his cell.

8:54 p.m. A man and woman left a restaurant without paying for their meal in the 1300 block of Railroad Avenue, Dolores. They suspects could not be identified.

Saturday, July 4

7:37 a.m. A man was cited on suspicion of driving without a valid license in the 27000 block of County Road H. A deputy initiated a traffic stop for speeding and the driver admitted his license was suspended. This was confirmed by dispatch.

9:31 p.m. A woman was cited on suspicion of harassment and domestic violence in the 25800 block of U. S. Highway 491. She pushed and slapped a man and was taken into custody.

Sunday, July 5

12:25 a.m. A man was cited on suspicion of violating a protection order in the 23500 block of County Road F.5. He contacted his wife by text while a no-contact protection order was active.

8:29 p.m. An altercation between a landlord and renter occurred in the 100 block of South Fifth Street, Dolores. There was a verbal altercation and the landlord stated the tenant pushed her, causing her to reinjure her back.

Monday, July 6

7:46 a.m. A man was cited on suspicion of violating a no contact protection order by calling a female inmate at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

3:02 p.m. Theft of a package was reported at Echo Basin Campground, 43747 County Road M. The package of two Polaris speakers was delivered and signed for by “Wilcox” but was missing afterward and never delivered to the buyer.

Tuesday, July 7

6:37 p.m. Two small sheds caught fire in the 13300 block of U.S. Highway 145. Nothing suspicious was reported by the landowner. The fire was contained, and the fire department is investigating the incident.

8:18 p.m. A man was cited for having a dog not under control in the 30700 block of County Road U.5. A black German shepherd allegedly attack a man and his dog. The owner had an open gate that allowed the dog to leave the property.

Wednesday, July 8

10:33 a.m. A man was served with a warrant at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Thursday, July 9

6:30 p.m. A woman was cited on suspicion of violating a protection order in the 24000 block of County Road F.4. She attempted to pick up one of her children from the father’s house and appeared to be intoxicated. She admitted to consuming alcohol, a violation of a conditional protection order.

Friday, July 10

8:05 p.m. Domestic violence was reported in the 5600 block of U.S. Highway 160. No evidence of domestic violence was observed. The couple agreed to separate for the night.

Saturday, July 11

3:41 p.m. Identity theft was reported in the 15200 block of County Road 22. A woman received several credit cards in the mail she did not apply for.

Sunday, July 12

6:15 p.m. A missing person was reported in the area of House Creek Boat Ramp, Dolores. Several men were kayaking and began taking on water due to high winds. One of the men did not make it back to the boat ramp. Dolores Search and Rescue was called. The man was found unharmed.

Monday, July 13

10:11 a.m. A missing person was reported missing in Montezuma County. Family and friends had not had any contact with the man since March 5 when he was released from Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St. All leads were exhausted. He was entered into CCIC/NCIC as a missing person.

1:01 p.m. A license plate was reported lost or stolen in the 200 block of South Second Street, Dolores. A woman visiting from Georgia noticed her license plate was gone but was unsure of when or where it went missing. It was entered into CCIC/NCIC.

Tuesday, July 14

11:42 a.m. A man was arrested on an active felony warrant for failure to comply in the area of South Market Street and Main Street. The man attempted to hide behind clothing racks in a store. The deputy unholstered his firearm and directed him to show himself and raise his hands. The man complied and was taken into custody. The Journal
