Thursday, May 21

8:28 a.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of criminal mischief and domestic violence in the 12900 block of County Road 22. The man punched several holes in the walls of their home. His wife had asked for a separation several weeks before and reported that his behavior had been escalating.

4:15 p.m. A camper exploded in the area of Forest Service Road 566. The female victim was airlifted to Mercy Regional Hospital in Durango with third-degree burns to 30% of her body. The cause appeared to be an accidental propane leak.

5 p.m. A male inmate was served with a warrant for failure to appear at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

8:39 p.m. Damage to an apartment was reported in the 100 block of South Fifth Street. A woman’s boyfriend was intoxicated and acting aggressive and erratic. He threw three drinks on the ground, knocked over a potted plant and broke a window.

Saturday, May 23

3:44 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of criminal attempt and theft in the 17600 block of Highway 491. The man attempted to steal car-hauler trailer and fled. He was chased by the owner’s son until he lost sight of the car. The suspect was located on County Road P after running his vehicle off the road.

8:22 p.m. A woman was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence and harassment in the 28200 block of Highway 160. A couple got into and argument over finances, and the woman grabbed her husband’s shirt, pulling him off balance and getting hit in the head. The husband was also kicked in the leg twice.

Sunday, May 24

1:50 p.m. Road rage was reported in the 10200 block of Highway 491, Dolores. A man was tailgating and blocking the lane so a couple could not turn. A verbal argument occurred between the two men. One man accused the other of flashing a gun at him, but his description of the gun was inconsistent with the gun the man owned.

6:41 p.m. Vehicle damage was reported at Doc’s Marina, 27356 Forest Service Road 271. A woman’s vehicle had a broken antenna and a long scratch along the driver’s side. The damage occurred between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. There were no suspects.

Monday, May 25

7:11 a.m. A boat was partially flipped over in the roadway in the 16500 block of County Road 20. The registered owner had reported his truck, trailer and boat were stolen, but the truck and trailer were returned with damage. Colorado State Patrol took over the investigation.

8:54 p.m. An arrest warrant and summons were issued for a woman on suspicion of violating a restraining order in the 23200 block of County Road F.4. The woman sent over 40 emails to fiancé, who had a protection order against her.

Tuesday, May 26

8:13 a.m. The Water Dock was tagged with spray paint in the 80 block of Central Avenue, Dolores. There were no suspects.

Wednesday, May 27

5:34 p.m. A .357 Magnum in a leather holster was found in the middle of Taylor Mesa Road (Forest Service Road 545). It was placed into evidence.

Sunday, May 31

8:26 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of assault, harassment and menacing in the 11000 block of County Road 24.3. A man was antagonizing another man with a flashlight, and the altercation became physical. The victim sustained minor injuries.

10:08 p.m. A man was cited multiple times on suspicion of being in possession of a Schedule 2 narcotic and trespassing. During a traffic stop, a white substance was observed in the vehicle. A probable cause search was conducted and the substance was collected as evidence.

Wednesday, June 3

4:52 a.m. A residential structure fire occurred in the 4300 block of U.S. Highway 160. The residence was under construction at the time. The cause of the fire may have been spontaneous combustion of oil rags, but will be further investigated.

6:44 a.m. Several piles of trash were illegally dumped in the 31500 block of County Road P, County Road M and Highway 145. Several residents helped the deputy bag the trash and waste disposal services collected it. There were no suspects.

8 a.m. A firearm was reported missing in the 16000 block of County Road 28.3. The .22 Magnum was last seen in 2018 and it is unknown when it went missing. The firearm was entered into NCIC/CCIC.

9:34 a.m. A man was cited on suspicion of third degree assault and crimes against at risk persons in the 14200 block of County Road 26. Two men got into an argument about irrigation, and one man slapped the other before leaving the scene.

10:59 p.m. A man was cited on suspicion of driving without a license and having an open container in the 400 block of North State Street. A BOLO had been issued for a black Honda Civic, with the driver alleged to have a gun that he pointed at a woman. The vehicle and driver were located, but no gun was found during a search of the vehicle.

Thursday, June 4

11:26 a.m. A woman’s garden was destroyed in the 2000 block of Hillside Avenue. The damage occurred sometime after 8:30 p.m. June 3. There were no suspects.

7:51 a.m. A woman reported harassing texts and phone calls in the 30000 block of County Road S.6. She received several harassing texts and a phone call from an unknown man. When the deputy attempted to call the man, he hung up. The woman was advised to block the number and report any further harassment.

Friday, June 5

5:26 p.m. Strong winds broke a spruce tree and it partially fell on a vehicle in the 100 block of North Seventh Street, Dolores.

Sunday, June 7

8:45 a.m. A verbal disturbance between a ma and woman was reported in the 12800 block of County Road 29. The couple was advised to seek couple’s counseling. No charges were filed.
