Cortez Public Library and Cortez Cultural Center will host a moderated, online forum for community discussion based on Scene on Radio’s podcast series “Seeing White” from 6 to 7:30 p.m. June 22 via Zooom.
The in-depth podcasts focus a spotlight on white people in view of the racist violence and the unending racial inequity in schools, housing, criminal justice and hiring in America. Scene on Radio also provides a bibliography of recommended reading for those who want to go deeper, like “White Fragility” by Robin Di Angelo.
The forum will be moderated by Rebecca Levy, director of the Cortez Cultural Center, and Jane Wheeler, Ph.D. of Organizational Behavior. Wheeler is a Cortez resident and an associate professor emeritus from Bowling Green State University.
Participation will not be limited in number of participants, but preregistration is required to receive the Zoom invitation.
