I want to say a big “thank you” to Patricia and Jack Burk.
They were one of the first to welcome us into the beautiful Mancos Valley. The generosity of spirit they have endowed it with is enormous.
Here are a few of the highlights of their efforts, and in no particular order:
Water Conservation District: to protect and enhance our agriculture water. The Grange: to endow the community with a place to gather and commune.
Mancos Valley Resources: to properly manage and grow this valuable repository of donations for the valley. 81328 Photo Exhibit: to show off the culture and grow pride in our valley.
Mancos Valley Chorus: where Patricia gave voice to her love of the community. Montezuma Land Conservancy: to champion the conservation of the valley for agriculture. Pay It Forward: helping our neighbors in times of unexpected crisis. School to Farm: to promote the benefits of agricultural knowledge for our children.
Jack and Patricia have taken a new direction, and I for one wish them well and thank them for their tireless efforts and leadership over so many years.
I hope we will still see them at the ABC now and again.
