The Mancos Melt culminated in the burning of a giant phoenix structure outside Mancos Brewing Co.

An “Out of this World” Mancos Melt is happening this Saturday, with putt-putt golf, live music and the burning of a “far-out” firebird sculpture.

The Mancos Melt is an annual tradition where locals are invited to burn the winter blues away and usher in the spring.

This year, the 11th annual Mancos Melt putt-putt tournament will kick off at noon at the Columbine Bar and wrap up at 4:30 p.m. at the Mancos Brewing Co., where teams can turn in their scorecards and await the results.

Prizes will be awarded for first through fourth places and “best-dressed.” “Out of this World” attire is encouraged.

The tournament is for teams of two, at $40 per team. Proceeds will go to the Montelores Early Childhood Council for its back-to-school backpack drive.

After the golf tournament, local rock band “Flashback” will play at the brewery beginning at 6 p.m., followed by the spring bonfire.
