Wednesday, Feb. 26

12:31 a.m. Mancos Marshal Justen Goodall responded to the 400 block of Bauer Avenue for a verbal disturbance. Goodall found a man sitting in a vehicle after having been bitten on the right arm by his girlfriend. His girlfriend was then arrested and taken to the Montezuma County Jail for harassment and domestic violence.

10 a.m. Deputy Angelita Topaha took a report on a stolen mountain bike at the 100 block of Spruce Street. The owner had noticed the bike was missing Feb. 14.

Friday, Feb. 28

5:14 p.m. Deputy Jared Farnsworth observed a man driving his truck under a suspended license at the intersection of Menefee Street and Ervien Drive. The driver was also found to have no insurance and fictitious plates, so the driver was cited and the vehicle towed.

Saturday, Feb. 29

9:45 p.m. Deputy Jared Farnsworth observed a vehicle driving eastbound on U.S. Highway 160 with a broken taillight, and contacted the vehicle about 100 yards from the highway on an unnumbered private road. After the contact, the driver opened the trunk and tried to leave the vehicle. The driver was a felon and the trunk contained a loaded firearm, so the driver was arrested on a weapons possession charge.

Sunday, March 1

8:45 a.m. Sgt. Brad Ray noticed a vehicle traveling eastbound in the 41000 block of U.S. Highway 160 with multiple items blocking the front windshield. Ray stopped the vehicle for having an obstructed view, and a passenger was found to have an active warrant for failure to comply. She was arrested and taken to the Montezuma County Jail, while the driver was given a verbal warning for the obstructed view.

3:15 p.m. Sgt. Brad Ray and Deputy Jared Farnsworth began seeking a woman with seven warrants out for her arrest: four out of La Plata County, one out of the Durango Police Department, one out of Archuleta County, and one out of the Colorado State Patrol. She was arrested in the 44000 block of U.S. Highway 160, and taken to the Montezuma County Jail without incident.

Monday, March 2

9:30 a.m. Deputy Michael Morris received a call of several areas being vandalized around the town of Mancos. The case is ongoing.
