The Durango Police Department seized $1,400 in cash, 5.1 grams of cocaine, 138 tabs of LSD and 4.45 grams of ketamine in a traffic stop Thursday night in north Durango, the agency said.

The Police Department reported the drug bust last week, but it had not disclosed the name of the suspect or given specifics about how much drugs were allegedly seized.

Orry T. Cummins, 33, was stopped on suspicion of drunken driving after he was seen weaving in the 2900 block of Main Avenue, Cmdr. Ray Shupe, a spokesman for the department, wrote in an email to The Durango Herald.

Cummins of Farmington was in town for Snowdown. He was arrested on suspicion of drug distribution and driving under the influence, according to the DPD.

A police sergeant who made the stop handed off the case to a rookie police officer who was in his second week of training, according to a Durango Police Department post on Facebook announcing the drug bust.

The rookie officer was with a field training officer who oversaw the investigation, Shupe said.
