The Mancos Public Library has a few events scheduled before the end of the month.

Saturday afternoon, Democrat James Iacino will host a community forum at the library from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Iacino is one of the candidates competing for the Democratic nomination for Colorado’s U.S. 3rd Congressional District in November.

The incumbent, U.S. Rep. Scott Tipton, R-Cortez, is seeking reelection.

Iacino, former CEO of the Colorado-based Seattle Fish Co., recently moved from Denver to Montrose, where he’s had an office for six years. The forum provides an opportunity to meet Iacino and discuss issues face to face.

Also, beginning at 7 p.m. Jan. 30, as part of the library’s “Businesses in Our Backyard” series, local craniosacral practitioner Jen Paschal will speak about craniosacral therapy, a technique that incorporates gentle massage used on the head and neck.

Paschal is also a certified massage therapist.
