Mancos FoodShare invites locals to take part in a free training Jan. 20 in order to volunteer for the organization’s Cooking Matters course.

Mancos FoodShare is seeking volunteers this spring for its Cooking Matters classes. FoodShare also encourages interested participants to attend a training this Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Cooking Matters classes are free courses offered by Mancos FoodShare teaching parents and caregivers how to prepare and shop for healthful, low-cost meals.

Prospective volunteers are invited to attend a new volunteer training on Jan. 20 at Manna Soup Kitchen, 1100 Avenida Del Sol in Durango. The free training will take place from 5-7 p.m., and is open to both English and Spanish speakers. A translator will be present.

The training is being held Jan. 20 as a way to celebrate Martin Luther King Service Day, according to the organization.

To register, contact Megan at mfeuerbacher@strength.org or visit the volunteer calendar at https://co.cookingmatters.org/sf/calendar.
