The 4 Corners Board of Realtors would like to thank participants of this year’s Parade of Lights. The theme was ‘Salute to Hometown Heroes,’ and Grand Marshals were the American Legion, VFW and DAV.

Senior veterans represented ‘Hometown Heroes’ in the Grand Marshal vehicles. Thank you to all our veterans, active duty, and families of our fallen heroes who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

Thank you to Roy Lane for leading the parade. Thank you to the judges, who were all female veterans: Kayla Maynard, Dee Blackhorse, Dena Stafford, Michele McCabe and Laura Lennihan. Thank you for your service to our country, our community, and for braving the cold to judge the parade.

Thank you to the members and affiliate members of the 4 Corners Board of Realtors and members who financially support this effort. Thank you to everyone who entered the parade. You are the reason the parade has become an event to be proud of.

The parade has become the community’s kick-off of the holiday season and it couldn’t happen without those who built floats, got entries in, participated in the parade and came as spectators. Thank you to CREA for the posters and advertising, the city of Cortez public works and for providing the vans for senior veterans, the Cortez Police Department, Mesa Media for the live feed, John at Preowned Cars & Trucks and Notah Dineh for allowing us to invade your businesses and more.
