Friends of Cedar Mesa presents, Celebrate Cedar Mesa, at the Bluff Community Center on Nov. 2.
This year’s annual event includes a presentation by writer Scott Thybony’s on his work The Disappearances, which he describes as “a story of exploration, murder and mystery set in southeastern Utah during the 1930s.”
The event also features a new film about Everett Ruess by Corey Robinson, followed by a storytelling session by local luminaries, including archaeologists Fred Blackburn, Bill Lipe and Winston Hurst, and law-enforcement ranger Lynell Schalk and former San Juan County, Utah, Sheriff Rigby Wright.
Friends of Cedar Mesa are proud to present its Celebrate Cedar Mesa event in San Juan County, Utah, for the third year. The Celebration is free and open to the public and begins at 1 p.m. A potluck chili feed and silent auction starts at 6 p.m. along with music into the evening by Sand and Sunni Sheff.

Friends of Cedar Mesa will advance its proposal of a 600,000 acre National Conservation Area as a part of the event proceedings.
