Pine River Library will offer the free “Know Before You Go” basic avalanche awareness program from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the library, 395 Bayfield Center Drive.
Attendees will witness the destructive power of avalanches, learn about why and how they happen and have a chance to ask questions about these dangerous forces of nature. This program is organized through the local nonprofit Friends of the San Juans.
