Tipton doing nothing to reduce gun deaths

Editor:

Last week, we had yet another mass shooting, and unfortunately they seem to be occurring more frequently.

I fear that many people are becoming calloused to the shootings, and the loss of life does not mean what it once met.

Also, some people seem to view the high rate of gun deaths in our country as an acceptable byproduct of unlimited access to guns. Rep. Scott Tipton is our congressman, and he is doing nothing to reduce the number of deaths from guns. In fact, he is undermining the efforts of those who are appalled by the number of deaths and want to do something. Tipton even is against background checks, something that gun owners and hunters like myself would hardly even notice.

If someone values human life this is inexcusable. We cannot throw up our hands and do nothing.

Tipton needs to step up, show appreciation for human life, and support efforts to reduce deaths from guns.
