I am writing this letter of support for Phil Kasper and Clay Tallmadge for Dolores School Board.
In this election, Dolores is in a unique position to have three longtime educators serve on the board. (Kay Phelps, board president, is also a longtime educator).
As former Dolores educators, both Phil and Clay are acutely aware of the needs in Dolores, including facilities, academics and fiscal needs. They both clearly understand the role a school board plays in the education of children, and will support the board’s one employee, the superintendent, to effectively conduct the business of the school district.
Both are well-versed in school law and best instructional practices. Additionally, neither of these men has a personal ax to grind or a hidden agenda that would not be desirable in a school board member. I believe that each has the highest degree of personal integrity, and therefore, give my strongest endorsement to each of them.
Please carefully consider your votes and select the candidates who have the desire and knowledge to move Dolores forward and prepare students for an ever-changing future.
