Now comes the good part of it all, it’s called election time. I remember some people saying if I help get them in office that they would help everybody, well they got into office, and it’s all been downhill for the tribe. Our leaders are never in their offices, and if they are it’s only to pick up their paycheck, not to help anybody. Maybe the people in Towaoc don’t know this, but they live worse than people in Third World countries, they are way below the poverty level.
If I’m wrong then maybe any one of the present council members can tell me how the people pay their bills or buy food on the money that they are given. What do they do when they run out of that big money they get each month? I’m not running for any office, but if I did I would be more than willing to debate with any one of the present council members right up to the chairman.
They talk about the budget, so OK who is on a spending spree, what are they giving back to the people who put them in office? How much are they spending on their useless travels? I say useless because they haven’t given back anything to the tribal membership, they took their pre-cap. Now they want your vote to get back into office. (Big paycheck, more travel.)
It’s time the people in Towaoc wake up and put somebody in office who will really be willing to help; somebody, who will be in his or her office at 7:30 a.m. ready to work at 8 a.m. and stay until 4 p.m. or later. No big paycheck or a lot of useless travel. We need more general meetings, informational meetings. It’s up to the people of Towaoc if they like the way they are living now or they want better lives. Put somebody in office who is really willing to help.
