Saturday, Oct. 5

5 p.m. Medical units were dispatched to the 40000 block of U.S. Highway 160 just west of town limits, for a report of an accident involving a motorcycle and a truck. When Mancos Marshal Justen Goodall arrived, there was a man lying on the ground with several people around him. According to the Colorado State Patrol, the motorcycle was traveling eastbound when it crashed into the back of a Penske truck, which was stopped in the eastbound lane of travel. The man was transported to a hospital for mild to moderate injuries.

Monday, Oct. 7

3:43 p.m. Mancos Deputy Michael Morris responded to a reported minor traffic accident involving a truck and an SUV at the intersection of U.S. Highway 160 and North Main Street. The truck driver said he was driving southbound on Main preparing to turn west onto U.S. 160, when the SUV pulled out in front of him from the frontage road on the east side of Main. He said he swerved, but the SUV hit the left rear quarter panel of his truck. The SUV driver said she didn’t see the truck because she was rubbing her eyes.

Saturday, Oct. 12

1:30 p.m. A traffic accident happened between an oversized load truck and a parked car at the intersection of Main Street and Grand Avenue. After Mancos Sgt. Brad Ray conducted an accident investigation, the semi driver was cited for careless driving.
