Anaya Martinez presents her testimony to a crowd of 150 at the Dolores High School football field on Oct. 9 during the third annual Fields of Faith.

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes huddle from Dolores High School hosted the third annual Fields of Faith on the football field Oct. 9.

Fields of Faith is a student-led event in which students invite, pray for, share with and challenge their peers to read the Bible and follow Jesus Christ. An athletic field provides a neutral, rally point where a community can come together. About 150 people gathered from Dolores, Mancos, Cortez and Dove Creek.

Grace Fellowship worship band, guest speaker Nate Robertson (formerly of the Arizona Diamondbacks) and many Dolores FCA athlete speakers were highlights of the event. FCA student leaders Anaya Martinez, Erin Brown, McKenzy Howerton and Jordan Elder all spoke. Anaya Martinez’s message focused on forgiveness and second chances.

The event was one of thousands of high school FCA huddles scheduled the same night across the United States.
