I am a candidate for the Dolores Re-4A School District Board.

My family has lived in Dolores for four generations. My husband and I have four grown children and five grandchildren. My background includes early childhood education and in the medical field as a medical assistant.

I have over 40 years of volunteer service, including but not limited to The Dolores School District, 4-H, FFA, Boy Scouts, Fair Board, Dolores All School Reunion, Rotary, and I am currently serving on the Dolores School Board since October of 2018.

If elected, I would encourage engagement through community outreach; accountability; transparency; fiscal health and responsibility; long-term planning through strategic planning; and retention and recruitment planning, for staff and students, which will enhance skills and improve outcomes.

My extensive knowledge of school policies and the Colorado Revised Statues would be highly valuable for the core business of the school. I am well versed in group settings, by finding common ground through negotiation and developing a goal set which benefits all parties involved, while still maintaining a high level of efficiency and confidentiality.

I am confident that I have the skills and experience to hold the position of board director (member). I am committed to public service and I want to serve my community as a school board member. As a board member, I have and will strive for academic excellence and social and emotional wellbeing so there will be more successful and contributing generations to come.
