Larry Funk, president of United Search & Rescue, accepts a rescue truck from Rob Kingery of Pleasant View Fire.

The Pleasant View Fire Department has donated a much-needed emergency rescue truck to the United Search & Rescue team of the Montezuma County Sheriff’s department.

The donated vehicle is greatly appreciated, said Kirk Underwood, of USAR, and will improve emergency services in the area.

“This will get us into the desert and the mountains, and is much more reliable than our old ambulance,” he said. “It is a big upgrade for us, and it was very generous of Pleasant View Fire.”

The ambulance has modern communications, generator, storage, and it can tow equipment trailers.
