10:28 a.m. A deputy issued an active warrant to a man at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St.

Saturday, Aug. 31

4:48 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of obstructing a highway after walking in the eastbound lanes in the 28000 block of U.S. Highway 160. He was left in custody of Montezuma County Detention Center.

6:06 p.m. A man was arrested on an active warrant on a personal recognizance bond in the 27900 block of Colorado Highway 184 after a dispatch call about a domestic dispute. He was left in custody of Montezuma County Detention Center.

6:36 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of criminal mischief and left in the custody of Montezuma County Detention Center after allegedly destroying property and harassing people in the 42500 block of Road N.

Sunday, Sept. 1

8:53 p.m. A deputy investigated broken windows at the former site of the M&M truck stop, 7006 U.S. Highway 160, but it was unclear when the windows had been broken.

Monday, Sept. 2

10:04 a.m. A deputy was dispatched to the 27100 block of U.S. Highway 184 about a wounded animal. A woman reported that her dog had been shot several days earlier.

Tuesday, Sept. 3

11:16 p.m. A deputy was called to the 27700 block of Road N, where he found a man trying to free a stuck vehicle. The man, who reportedly possessed an open container of alcohol, was arrested on suspicion of DUI and was taken to Southwest Memorial Hospital for a medical clearance, then to the Montezuma County Detention Center.

Wednesday, Sept. 4

9:49 a.m. A woman was arrested on a warrant at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., and left in custody of Montezuma County Detention Center.

3:34 p.m. A woman reported a possible trespassing at her home, in the 14000 block of County Road 22. She said that after returning from out of state, she discovered someone might have been living in her home: the back door was open, $200 was missing from the kitchen counter, food was missing from the freezer and pantry, and someone’s toys were in the bedrooms. A deputy filed a report.

9:41 p.m. A man at the Ute Mountain Casino Hotel & Resort, 3 Weeminuche Drive in Towaoc, was arrested for a parole violation and failure to comply. He was left in custody of Montezuma County Detention Center.

Thursday, Sept. 5

11:51 a.m. A deputy was dispatched to the 6300 block of County Road 21 about an a report of an assault. A man admitted he approached another man with a hatchet and brass knuckles and set a mattress on fire. The man was arrested on suspicion of menacing and criminal mischief and left in custody of Montezuma County Detention Center.

Friday, Sept. 6

7:27 a.m. A woman was cited in the 17000 block of Colorado Highway 145 for failing to stop for a stopped school bus that displayed flashing red lights.

9:57 a.m. A man was arrested on a warrant at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., and left in custody of Montezuma County Detention Center.

6:53 p.m. A woman was cited for not having her dogs under control after dogs were reportedly running loose in the 6000 block of U.S. Highway 160.

Monday, Sept. 9

6:09 a.m. A deputy was dispatched to the 12000 block of County Road 26 about two suspicious people. Two men were contacted, and one of the men was arrested on an active warrant. He was left in custody of Montezuma County Detention Center.

9:12 a.m. A deputy was dispatched to Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., to issue an active warrant to a female inmate.

5:03 p.m. A deputy was dispatched to Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., to issue an active warrant to a male inmate.

7:47 p.m. A deputy was dispatched to the 25300 block of County Road G to issue an active warrant to a woman. The woman was arrested and left in custody of Montezuma County Detention Center.
