Thanks to the Cortez Rendezvous Balloon Rally for supporting Special Olympics!
A surprise donation of $1,000 was given to support local Special Olympics athletes in Cortez for their sports training costs and travel expenses to area and state competitions. I would like to thank the event organizer, Cookie See, for providing us this opportunity and to all the pilots and sponsors for their support. Additional thanks to sponsors of the dinner (PASCO SW, Mr. Happy’s, Dr. Vestal, Jeff Hill and the Peters family) the pilots (The Nils, Colleen Johnson, Pell Wadley, Nick Meleski and others) who attempted to tether their balloons, and the musicians (Kevin Frazier & Issac, Linda Baker and Guests) who provided entertainment. A great time was had by all. Cortez Special Olympics athletes send a big THANK YOU to all for their support!
Special Olympics Colorado is a non-profit organization that provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
