Mancos School District Re-6 is seeking nominations for candidates to be placed on the ballot for the regular school-board election on Tuesday, Nov. 5.

Two directors will be elected, each for a four-year term.

To be qualified, a candidate must have been a registered elector of the school district, and of the director district to be represented, for at least 12 consecutive months prior to the election. A person is ineligible to run for school board if he or she has been convicted of committing a sexual offense against a child.

Potential candidates must file a written notice of intention to be a candidate, along with a nominating petition signed by at least 25 eligible electors who are registered to vote in the election. Nomination petitions can be obtained at the Re-6 Central Office between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Completed petitions are due back to the election official, Theresa Titone, no later than 4 p.m. Aug. 30.
