Recently there was an article in the Denver Post (“‘So many kids getting hurt’: Sexual abuse and neglect ignored in rural Colorado county, report finds,” about Montezuma County).
It doesn’t make me very proud to say I live here.
It talks about the issues at social services and the child abuse cases that were not taken care of properly.
Hopefully, those issues are being taken care of.
When I heard of one of these cases a couple of years ago, I was told that the game mentioned in it had been going on for four generations in one family. I can’t believe something like this is still happening.
The sad part is, the game is spreading out in this family. More boys are becoming victims.
Something like this needs to be stopped. The people involved need counseling.
Please talk to your children and explain to them that this kind of game is wrong.
