Editor:

We are quick to criticize the county road staff for “holding up shovels,” not grading roads or not filling potholes. Well, early last week, there was a large rain here in the Lewis area that caused flooding of roads and resulted in very hazardous driving conditions shortly before dark. Our county roads staff was out until 9 p.m. locating and putting up warning cones. First thing next morning, they were hauling gravel and repairing damages. I looked and there was even the local supervisor on equipment doing repairs! Kudos to our road district crew. Of course we have the best district crew in the county, I’m pretty sure.
