The latest installment of Ian MacLaren’s “Progressive Pitch” column (Journal, July 26) contained the typical misguided views of the young low-information citizen. (Search the Web for “who pays income taxes.”)
MacLaren is entitled to his opinions, of course, but the Journal is remiss in publishing his opinions in the sports section, despite the thin guise of pertaining to sports entities. In my view, opinion columns belong in the opinion page, period.
On a more positive note, news and human interest features in the Journal have vastly improved since you added Jim Mimiaga and Tobie Baker to your staff. My compliments to both writers.
