Weekend events at Mancos State Park will highlight butterflies and cowboys.
Saturday, July 27:
1 p.m.: This weekend should be the best of the summer to see the Colorado Hairstreak, a butterfly that is Colorado's state insect. Join the park naturalist to look for and see the butterflies up close. Nets will be provided.
4 p.m.: Kids and adults can learn all about wildlife and its habitat at Wild Games.
7 p.m.: This date is the National Day of the Cowboy.
Come out to a concert that will honor the tradition of the cowboy. Wear your cowboy hat and boots, and bring the dog.
Sunday, July 28
7:30 a.m.: Mornings are great for bird watching at the park. Bring your binoculars.
11 a.m.: If you can't make the butterfly adventure on Saturday, you'll have a second chance on Sunday morning.
