First United Methodist Church and Native Grace Intertribal Fellowship will host a gourd dance from noon to sunset Aug. 31 at the church, 515 N. Park Ave.
The event aims to illustrate that a person does not have to choose to be either Christian or traditional – a person can be both and be blessed by it.
The event will feature traditional dancing, music, food, artwork and crafts. A Native American feast of mutton stew will be served at about 6 p.m. Snacks and drinks will be available throughout the day.
All are invited, especially veterans. Bring chairs and canopies. Arts and craft vendor spots are available for a $10 fee. For more information, contact Pastor Norman Mark at (435) 459-2604.
