The League of Women Voters of Montezuma County will meet at 10 a.m. Aug. 10 at Mancos Public Library, 211 W. First St.
The speaker will be Chuck Haspels reporting on a “Peacemaking Study Trip – Reconciliation Work in Rwanda: Healing the Trauma of Genocide.”
In 1994, 1 million persons died in Rwanda. This year is the 25th anniversary of this horrific genocide.
Haspels will report on his contact with church leaders, university professors and government officials who shared their insights on the efforts of healing and reconciliation.
