Colorado Parks and Wildlife seeks public comment on possible sites for new state parks.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife is exploring opportunities to open new state parks. In 2018, the Colorado General Assembly passed the Future Generations Act, calling on CPW to plan for development of new state parks.

The draft criteria offer broad characteristics to evaluate properties in order to ensure they achieve this vision. They are: outstanding nature-based recreation, natural resource value and conservation, meets Colorado’s needs, relevance and community value and financial sustainability.
