A motorcyclist from the Front Range suffered serious injuries Friday morning after crashing between Molas Pass and Silverton on U.S. Highway 550.
Colorado State Patrol Trooper Jeff Chmielewski said Chance Vonholle, 28, of the Fountain area suffered severe injuries in the single-vehicle crash around 11:30 a.m. and was sent to Mercy Regional Medical Center.
Mercy spokeswoman Sarah Silvernail said Vonholle has been treated and released.
Chmielewski said excessive speed was a factor. Vonholle could not control his vehicle in a turn and drove off the left side of the road and hit rocks.
Chmielewski did not have details concerning Vanholle’s injuries.
