Editor:On June 6, a article came out about my plea agreement. I would like a chance to set the record straight on a few things.
The first thing is the comment I was quoted on. I love when people take stuff out of context to make it seem like something else. The reporter stated in the courtroom that when asked by a officer how I was doing, I replied, "Better then most in Montezuma County," which makes it seem that I am better then others. I meant this comment as a humble comment. Humble, you say? Yes, I am aware that others have bigger problems than me. I am fortunate to have a job, a place to live and money that I have saved to help me through this.
I take full responsibility for my actions. Several years ago, I worked at the shelter, I have been involved with the Community Christmas Dinner, and in the beginning I helped with Habitat for Humanity. My true friends (and I have a few) have stood beside me, they know me, they know my struggles with alcohol and don't pass judgment on me like others. Thanks to those in the community that have stood by me. I am doing well, my friends. Mark Dunn
