Tyler Underwood O.D., of Cortez, has completed the Doctor of Optometry degree at the Arizona College of Optometry of Midwestern University.
An official graduation ceremony and conferring of degrees took place on the Midwestern University campus in Glendale, Arizona, on May 30.
Dr. Tyler Underwood is the son of Cortez residents Dr. Duke and Kay Underwood. He graduated from Dolores High School in 2011, and then graduated Magna Cum Laude from Union College with a Bachelor of Science in International Rescue and Relief in 2015. While at Midwestern, he served on student council and was a member of the International Optometric Honor Society, Beta Sigma Kappa. After graduating third in his class from Midwestern, he plans to return to Cortez to practice with his father at Underwood Optical.
