Cortez Public Library to host literary festival

Cortez Public Library will host the first ever Cortez Literary Festival this weekend, with Anne Hillerman giving the keynote address on Friday.

The First Ever Cortez Literary Festival will take place this weekend on Friday and Saturday at Cortez Public Library, 202 N. Park St. The opening reception with keynote speaker Anne Hillerman will beheld from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, followed by a book signing for her new book, The Tale Teller. The event is free, with refreshments.

From 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, the library will be transformed from front to back and inside out with food vendors — Sweetwater Gypsies Wood-fired Pizza and The Farm Bistro, plus the Library Café. Visit with 30 authors, poets, storytellers and other literary artists at their individual tables; experience ten free mini-workshops, as well as activities for children; and check out our biggest ever Friends of the Library used book sale
