Please do not forget the Constitution

When was the last time you remember seeing the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence or the Bill of Rights posted anywhere? A bank, the post office, a school, the library, your local pub, or anywhere else? Your home?

And why are they no longer posted in plain sight, for anyone to read, to be kept informed, kept reminded of our rights, and for what this country stands? I ask you! What happened and why?

Have we so conveniently been made to forget that an uneducated public becomes vulnerable? Have we fallen into a false sense of safety and security?

Those divinely inspired documents to guide a country’s government, and its people, to work together, have proven stable and flexible enough to survive and remain effective in a world totally different from when they were written. Do we want to lose something that benefits all, equally, and continues to work and has worked for over 200 years?

Lest we pay serious attention to protecting our Constitution, it can be torn apart to serve a few at the expense of many. We can fall prey to the consequences from which the Constitution promises to protect us, the tyranny of a single monarch, and the protection of personal liberty of citizens from intrusions by the government. Remember, we have pledged allegiance to establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, promote the general welfare and secure the blessings of liberty!
