Southwest Colorado Canyons Alliance invites the community to a concert with Jemez Pueblo flute player Marlon Magdalena from 6 to 9 p.m. on June 21 at a private property McElmo Canyon. Magdalena will perform his flute music and share his deep knowledge of Jemez Pueblo traditions, as well as stories from his culture. Marlon also will demonstrate techniques for flute players to improve their own abilities.
Appetizers and refreshments will be provided by SCCA. Tickets are $25 for current members of SCCA or $30 for nonmembers. Guest must register and pay in advance online at bit.ly/2JBuckl. Scroll down to special event and select “SCCA Marlon Magdalena Flute Player.” After registering, the exact location of the venue will be provided.
