Festival attendees dance to the music of Funkdafari at a past Dolores River Festival.

The Dolores River Festival, featuring nine bands and two stages, will take place June 1 at Joe Rowell Park. Admission is $25.

Local and national acts will perform, with a mix of world rhythms, reggae, funk, rock, country and Brazilian percussion.

Dolores River Festival morning sets feature Seven Sharp, Afrobeatnicks and Samba Galactica, a 20-person drumming group. Throughout the festival, drummers will wade into the audience to spur dancing and direct the crowd from stage to stage. The afternoon features Side FX, Elder Grown, Groove Casters, the Garret T. Capps band, Flat Tire, Samba Galactica and Diggin Dirt.

Free raft rides from Dolores River Boating Advocates will be offered from noon to 3 p.m.

The traditional boaters parade, with locals dressing in costumes, will float down the river. Also, there will be a supervised kid play area with games and events, relay races, face-painting and a swimming pool. Dozens of vendors, including food and drinks, will serve festival-goers. Camping passes are also available.

Sign up to volunteer and get a free festival pass, T-shirt and drink ticket.
