Montezuma-Cortez High School has moved its graduation ceremony to Friday morning because of the weather forecast.

Because rain has been forecast for Thursday night, the Montezuma-Cortez High School graduation ceremony has been moved to Friday morning.

A Friday commencement was the “contingency plan,” according to officials with the Montezuma-Cortez School District RE-1, who sent out a letter with the news on Tuesday afternoon.

The new ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. at Panther Stadium. Seniors are expected to be at the Cortez Middle School at 9:15 a.m., and staff should arrive at 9:30 a.m.

Graduation practice will still take place at 10 a.m. Thursday but will happen in the M-CHS gym instead of on the field.
