The Bureau of Land Management will host an art and archaeology exhibition at the Canyons of the Ancients Visitor Center and Museum.

Students from the Southwest Open School in Cortez will exhibit their archaeologically inspired work for two weeks starting at 1 p.m. May 28 through June 14 at Canyons of the Ancients Visitor Center and Museum, 27501 Colorado Highway 184, Dolores.

Southwest Open School students are learning about cultural resource management and ancestral Puebloan culture. The students are producing art pieces inspired by archaeological sites, documents and artifacts from the region. The exhibition is a result of a partnership between Southwest Open School, BLM’s Canyons of the Ancients Visitor Center and Museum, and Southwest Colorado Canyons Alliance.

For more information, call the school at (970) 565-1150.
