The Colorado Department of Transportation will begin construction on the US Highway 160/491 passing lanes. The project, slated to begin on April 29, will construct passing lanes, shoulder improvements, vehicle turnouts and access improvements on U.S. 160/491 near Towaoc.
CDOT and partners, the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe, the Federal Highways Administration and contractor Oldcastle SW Group will commemorate the start of this project at 10:30 a.m. April 25, along the highway about 10.5 miles south of Cortez.
