Cortez among 11 award winners named for use of lottery funds

The Colorado Lottery has announced the 11 recipients of the 2019 Starburst Award. The award recognizes excellence in the use of lottery proceeds for community and conservation projects. Winners are chosen based on the creativity of the project, the economic and social impact on the community, and whether the project achieved its goal.

The city of Cortez was announced as one of the 11 winners for the Centennial Park Pickleball Courts. More than $16.2 million in funds is represented in the 11 chosen projects. Projects will receive their awards at community events throughout the summer.
