Get ideas for landscaping and home improvement projects by visiting the 19th annual Four Corners Home and Garden Show on Friday and Saturday at the Montezuma County Fairgrounds.

The show is a venue for businesses to promote their services and products, as well as displaying new developments in interior decorating, gardening, landscaping, building ideas and technologies.

There will be 83 vendors this year, up from 65 in 2017. The two-day event is organized by the Four Corners Builders Association, and attracts about 5,000 people each year, said coordinator Jana Wright.

“It is a great venue to learn new things, do some shopping, and learn about local businesses,” she said.

On Saturday, there will be a classic car show, featuring vehicles from local and regional areas. Owners will gladly explain the model and pop the hood to show off the historic engine. Attendees can vote for their favorites, and awards will be given to the owners with the most votes.

New this year are more organized fun and games for children, Wright said. There are also many first-time vendors.

There will be live demonstrations of products and designs throughout the weekend, including cooking demos for the professional or the amateur. A silent auction allows attendees to bid on items at a fraction of their actual costs. Silent auction times are donated by exhibitors to help support the scholarships and community projects.

Proceeds of the Home and Garden Show go toward community construction projects and scholarships for students entering trade schools, Wright said.

The show is a good networking opportunity for local builders and landscapers.

“For the homeowner, they learn there are more businesses offering services in the area then they may have realized,” she said.

The show runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. Cost is $4 for adults, and $2 for seniors over age 65. Kids up to age 16 get in free.
