In partnership with National Weather Service, Nurture Nature Center is hosting focus groups in Durango next week about the use of weather service river forecast products.
One session is for professionals who use these forecasts in their work; the other is for residents who use them for household or recreational purposes, Rachel Carr said in a press release.
Participants will provide feedback about various NWS river forecast products to help improve these products. Residential participants will be paid $50 for their time and input.
Up to 15 people may participate. Participants can register at www.focusonfloods.org and can email questions to rhogan@nurturenature.org or call 610-253-4432, est. 101.
“These sessions are very important to the local NWS offices and are part of a research study funded by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration,” Carr said.
