Tuesday, March 5

10:27 a.m.: A man and woman were asked to leave the restrooms at Centennial Park, 800 E. Montezuma Ave. The woman was arrested for violating a protection order that states she cannot consume alcohol.

11:30 a.m.: A man turned himself in at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., while a police officer was at the jail. The officer served the man failure to appear warrants.

1:58 p.m.: A man was arrested on a Cortez municipal warrant on the 400 block of N. Mildred Road.

Wednesday, March 6

4:22 p.m.: A man was served a felony warrant and misdemeanor warrant at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

9:02 a.m.: A volunteer with For Pet’s Sake Humane Society was bitten by a cat on the 400 block of N. Henry St. The cat was confined for observation, and the man was treated at Southwest Health System’s walk-in clinic, 1311 N. Mildred Road.

3:01 p.m.: A man was arrested on two failure to comply warrants on the 10 block of W. 13th St.

Thursday, March 7

9:19 a.m.: A woman was arrested on a failure to appear warrant on the 800 block of S. Broadway.

3:29 p.m.: A man was arrested on two failure to comply warrants on the 500 block of S. Madison St.

6:41 p.m.: A woman pulled over for expired plates on the 700 block of N. Mildred Road immediately handed an officer a citation for expired plates written about seven hours prior. The driver was cited for driving without insurance, driving without a license and expired plates. A male passenger was arrested on a La Plata County warrant.

Friday, March 8

1:00 p.m.: Two vehicles collided while both were turning onto the 600 block of E. Main St. in different directions. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage.

5:26 p.m.: A woman reported a possible hit-and-run at City Market, 508 E. Main St. White paint transfer was observed on her truck. She said she did not know when the hit-and-run occurred, and there were no leads.

11:50 p.m.: A man was arrested for violating a protection order and hitting a trailer on the 800 block of S. Chestnut St. He was intoxicated and had possibly smoked meth.

Saturday, March 9

3:21 p.m.: A man reported a possible hit-and-run at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St. His driver’s-side headlight was damaged. Surveillance cameras did not cover the area where he parked.
