Farmers market meeting



An initial meetings for participants in the Mancos Farmers Market will be at the Mancos Public Library on Thursday, April 4 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Call 769-4081 for more information.





Tack & Equipment Consignment Sale



Four Corners Back Country Horsemen will hold its Annual Tack & Equipment Sale on April 5-6 at the La Plata County Fairgrounds.

Check in items for sale Friday, April 5, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. or Saturday, April 6, from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m.

The sale will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Credit cards will be accepted.

Pick up payment & unsold items can be picked up from 4 to 5 p.m. on Saturday.

Commission rates are 10 percent for trailers and vehicles ($500 maximum fee per item) and 15 percent for all other merchandise ($300 maximum fee per item).

Commercial and nonprofit booths are available from Sherri Libby at (970) 247-8036. Consignor information and forms can be obtained by emailing www.4cbch.org or at the door

Western Stars Weekend



The Colorado Chapter of the Western Music Association will hold a concert on Saturday, April 13, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Montezuma-Cortez High School Auditorium. "Miss Devon and the Outlaw" is made up of Devon Dawson and Jessie Robertson. Dawson is a western-swing star who sang as "Jessie the Cowgirl" on the Disney CD of Toy Story. Kristyn Harris, 18, loves singing and playing multiple string instruments. Last, but not least, is Janet McBride, known as "Queen of the Yodelers." Tickets are $10 at the door, with youth 12 and under free.

On Sunday, April 14, there will be a free western yodeling-music workshop for ages 4-21 at the Baptist Chapel at 1509 N. Dolores Road near Cortez.

There will be a potluck at 6 p.m. Monday, April 15, and a concert at 7 p.m. at the Southwest Cowboy Church, one mile west of Highway 491 on County Road S. A love offering will be taken.





Movie Mondays



Movie Mondays continue and will begin at 4 p.m. Free! For ages 8 and up. For more information please call MPL at 533-7600.





SBDC "Marketing for Smarties"



The Small Business Development Center at Fort Lewis College is offering a "Marketing for Smarties" class at Durango Space from 1 to 5 p.m. April 16, May 2 and May 16. The fee is $199. Register by (970) 247-7009; e-mailing Asano_l@fortlewis.edu; or online at https://www.coloradosbdc.org/.

A "Starting Your Business" workshop also will be held at the Durango Public Library from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 18. Walk-ins are welcome, and the fee is $25.





Dairy Goat Information Day



The Four Corners Dairy Goat Breeders will hold a dairy goat information day on Saturday, May 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 23161 Rd. G.2 in Cortez.

Ask questions about raising dairy goats. See animals and get advice and demonstrations on care and maintenance. Multiple breeds will be represented. Some will be available for sale. Some equipment may be available for sale.





Kaleidoscope continues activities



Gentle yoga basics with Keneen is at 9 a.m. to 10:15. Yoga all levels with Keneen is at 10:30 a.m. to noon. The first class is free and drop ins are $12 and sign-in is encouraged. Register online at www.YogiKeneenDC.com.

Also, Zumba with "Coco" Chanelle, all levels is $5. The classes are on Wednesdays and Fridays from 5:30 to 6:30 and on Saturdays from 9 to 10 a.m.





Indoor flea market ongoing event



The Mancos Flea Market is every Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Old Hardware Store, 192 S. Main, across the bridge and just past The Absolute Bakery. Everyone is welcome to come sell, browse and buy. Spaces are available - 12'x12' for $15 for both days. Call 749-9320 for more information. Teen writing group meets on Wednesdays



Local writer Suzanne Strazza in partnership with the Mancos Public Library, will be leading a writer's group for teens ages 13-19. This group will meet at the Mancos Public Library, located at 211 W. First St., every Wednesday from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m. No prior writing experience is needed. There will be no homework or required writing for this class; it is merely to explore ideas and how to get them onto paper. For more information, please call MPL at 533-7600.





Teen Computer Club at Mancos library



The first Wednesday of each month at 5 to 6:30 p.m. teens will meet in the Community Meeting Room at the Mancos Public Library to work on various computer projects. All meetings will have hands on experience with digital devices, disassemble, build, etc. At times we will have regional computer geeks visit. They will answer questions on specified topics, such as animation, robotics, game development hacking, etc. Questions? Call for more information at 970-533-7600.
