In early February, I wrote a letter to the editor saying no "assault" style rifle was used in this tragedy (the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Conn.). The information provided to me was in error and I feel a correction is in order. The just-released search warrants associated with this shooting indicate Lanza was indeed found "in possession of several handguns as well as a military-style assault weapon."
