3:54 p.m.: A man and dog were rescued after falling through the ice at Totten Lake, at 10401 County Road 29. The man said his canine saw a fish through the ice and was jumping up and down to try to catch the fish. The dog owner called 911 and then got on his stomach and slid out to try to retrieve his dog, but he broke the ice and fell in the lake.
Saturday, Feb. 16
6:33 p.m.: A deputy dispatched an injured deer on the 29000 block of U.S. Highway 160.
8:40 p.m.: A woman was cited for criminal mischief and disorderly conduct for allegedly kicking a door, throwing three antique Zane Grey books and damaging a TV at the Rio Grande Southern Hotel, at 101 S. Fifth St. in Dolores.
8:40 p.m.: The woman who was involved in an incident at the Rio Grande Hotel in Dolores was waiting to speak to a deputy at the Montezuma County Sheriff’s Office Sub Station, at 420 Central Ave. in Dolores, when she began using obscenities at officers. She said she didn’t have anywhere to stay overnight, and a deputy believed she was attempting to be arrested on minimal charges so she could go to jail. Due to her level of intoxication, she was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital before taken to Montezuma County Detention Center, at 730 E. Driscoll St.
Monday, Feb. 18
12:52 p.m.: A woman was issued a trespass notice on the 9000 block of County Road 29 after residential property owners told her to leave.
2:40 p.m.: A man was arrested for disorderly conduct for yelling while intoxicated at the Chavolito’s Mexican Restaurant, 104 S. Second St. in Dolores.
Tuesday, Feb. 19
9:43 a.m.: A woman at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., was arrested on a failure to appear warrant.
11:30 a.m.: A woman was arrested on charges of first-degree aggravated motor vehicle theft and driving without a license for driving a 2010 red Ford F-150 that was reported stolen in Phoenix. She was pulled over and arrested on the 1400 block of E. Main St. in Cortez.
11:00 a.m.: A man was arrested at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., on a failure to appear warrant.
4:45 p.m.: A man in the booking area of Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., was served two failure to appear warrant.
Wednesday, Feb. 20
11:12 a.m.: A man reported a possible hit-and-run to his vehicle while it was parked on the 15000 block of County Road CC in Pleasant View. Damages are estimated at $2,886.
8:20 p.m.: A male inmate at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., was charged with introducing contraband in the first degree, a Class 4 felony. A substance tested positive for synthetic cannabinoids.
3:57 p.m.: An unknown male suspect reported a bomb inside the Community Banks of Colorado, at 305 Guyrene St. in Dove Creek. A Montezuma County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to assist in a road block. The bomb threat was ruled as false reporting by Dolores County Sheriff Don Wilson.
2:12 p.m.: An aggressive dog bit a woman on the leg on the 35000 block of County Road P.5. When a deputy arrived, two dogs ran toward him and he got back in his patrol vehicle. The dogs followed his patrol vehicle as he attempted to contact the dog owners. A dog tried to bite the deputy, so he deployed pepper spray on the dogs as a deterrent. The woman who was bit said the dog bit her as she was cleaning her vehicle and she felt her boot filling up with blood. She said she did not wish to press charges and requested that the dog owners pay for her medical bills.
Thursday, Feb. 21
12:47 p.m.: A man at Montezuma County Detention Center, at 730 E. Driscoll St., was served a failure to comply warrant.
2:26 p.m.: A man at Montezuma County Detention Center, at 730 E. Driscoll St., was served a failure to comply warrant and a failure to appear warrant.
5:14 p.m.: A man at Montezuma County Detention Center, at 730 E. Driscoll St., was served a warrant.
10:07 p.m..: A woman on the 24000 block of County Road G.1 was arrested on a failure to appear warrant.
Friday, Feb. 22
10:18 a.m.: A woman was arrested on an 8-year-old extraditable failure to appear warrant out of Lawrence County, Pennsylvania in connection with a DUI accident. The woman is an employee at Slavens True Value Hardware, at 237 W. Main St., and was arrested while at work. After the warrant was explained, the woman said the accident was not her fault.
Saturday, Feb. 23
10:50 a.m.: A man driving a 1984 GMC pickup rolled over into a ditch on the 5000 block of U.S. Highway 160. He did not have any injuries. A deputy waited with the driver until a tow truck recovered the vehicle.
12:14 p.m.: A Jeep rolled over in the southbound lane on the 5000 block of U.S. Highway 160. A female passenger was being treated for head wound by an off duty nurse and the male driver had a cut on his head. Colorado State Patrol took over the investigation.
2:44 p.m.: Three dogs were running at large in the area of Twenty-first St. and Railroad Ave. in Dolores. A nearby resident said her children left the door open and let two dogs out. A deputy was unable to locate the home of a third dog, and brought the animal to the Cortez Animal Shelter, at 2791 E. Main St.
7:28 p.m.: A man reported a possible hit-and-run as he was sleeping in his semitrailer as it was parked at 1 Mike Washington Rd. in Towaoc. He woke up when the semitrailer began rocking slightly and upon inspection of his vehicle, he noticed slight damage to the right front portion. He said he honked his horn at a semitrailer that he believed hit his semitrailer, but the other driver refused to stop. A sergeant reviewed security video but did not find conclusive evidence of a suspect.
11:16 p.m.: A man was arrested on suspicion of DUI after a white pickup truck crashed into a large road sign on the 5000 block of U.S. Highway 160.
Monday, Feb. 25
5:04 p.m.: A man was arrested at Montezuma County Combined Courts, at 865 N. Park St., on a probation remand.
