The Hisatsinom Chapter of the Colorado Archaeology Society will present Kate Magargal, Ph.D., for her talk about the ecology of fuelwood in the Four Corners region, on March 5 at 7p.m. at the Methodist Church, 515 Park St., in Cortez.

Magargal, a postdoctoral research associate in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Utah, will focus on how the ecology of the Four Corners region today is structured by thousands of years of past decisions. She will explore this ecological legacy through the dynamic interactions between people and the fuels they use for cooking, heating, and ceremony.
