Youth Leadership Council members, Andrea Tripp, Mikkel Waltman, Kia Baikie and Honorary AmeriCorps member (and YLC alumni) Deirdre McAlister, paint the windows of the KSJD ArtSpace Performance Venue, located at 8 E. Main.

I'm writing to thank the student leaders of the School Community Youth Collaborative for their work in designing and painting a mural on the windows of the KSJD ArtSpace Permance Venue at 8 East Main. I've had many calls and emails commenting on the positive impact the mural has on the look of downtown. The credit for this work goes to Andrea Tripp, Mikkel Waltman, Kia Baikie, Abby Lock and Judy Ha, who showed tremendous professionalism and creativity in listening to the needs of the client (KSJD) and developing creative concepts from which we could choose.

Thanks to Cindy Houston, SCYC's Youth Programs Coordinator, Americorps Volunteer Deirdre McAllister and KSJD's Donna Steward for supporting these youth leaders.

SCYC is a Cortez-based non-profit that creates pro-social opportunities for youth to build healthy relationships and to engage in their communities through sustainable collaborations with youth and organizations in Montezuma and Dolores counties.
