Dolores school board looking at student progress data tonight

The Dolores school board is set to receive progress reports for students at all levels during a regular meeting Thursday night.

For students at the elementary and secondary levels, the board will see midyear English language arts progress based on data from the Measuring Academic Progress test. Discipline data will be presented for elementary students, while a report on at-risk students will be given for secondary students.

A written report will presented for preschool students.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. in the professional development room, the large building behind the district office at 100 N. Sixth St.

Other businessThe board will receive a water fountain update and a middle school student government report.Rene Farias will present to the board on Operation Graduation, a community program that aims to provide a safe, substance-free celebration for seniors on graduation night.On discussion, board members will talk about the school calendar, policy meeting date for April, a BOCES/RE-4A sale agreement, and a job description for an administrator of curriculum and assessments.On consent, board members will consider approving bills and financial statements for the period ending Jan. 31, two $100 donations for middle school girls basketball uniforms, a series of policies, and the hiring of elementary paraprofessional Tanya Castillo and substitute teachers Bentley Monk and Jerrod Simmons.During executive session, the board will conduct a superintendent evaluation.And in other superintendent-related news, the board will present an update on the selection of the superintendent interview committees.
